The man who made life on the move possible by designing the world's first laptop computer has scooped the 2010 Prince Philip Designers Prize. British-born but US-based designer Bill Moggridge beat off more contemporary competition from nominees including Vivienne Westwood, Zaha Hadid and Neville Brody, to win the award for a lifetime's contribution to design at the Design Council last night.
